A live camera on your construction site
A buyer who pays for an apartment at the frame stage has one fear above all: that construction will stop. A live camera on your website answers that fear every day, without a word.
Why a developer needs a live camera
In Georgia, apartments are often bought off-plan or at the frame stage and paid for up front or in instalments. Renders and promises do not remove the buyer's doubt. A camera that shows the real site on your website at any moment — the crane working, concrete being poured, a new floor going up — does.
- Buyer trust. Someone choosing a flat in Saburtalo, Vake, Didi Digomi or on Batumi's new boulevard compares developers. An open, always-on live view says you have nothing to hide.
- Buyers far away. Apartments in Tbilisi and Batumi are often bought by Georgians living abroad and by foreign investors. They cannot visit the site, but they can check it on their phone at any time.
- An argument for your sales team. On a call, the consultant says: "Open our website and see what is happening right now." That says more than any brochure.
- Partners and investors. Give them a separate, password-protected camera if they want a constant eye on the site without it appearing on the public page.
Where to put the camera
- On a neighbouring building or the site office, diagonally across the plot, so the whole building is in view and the floors are easy to count. Get written permission before using a neighbour's roof.
- Height and angle. Mount it high, tilted slightly down. A tall building has to stay in frame for the whole project, so leave room for sky from day one.
- Do not put the main camera on the crane. Vibration and rotation ruin the picture, and the crane is dismantled at the end — taking the camera with it.
- Resolution and lens. 4 MP or more; a wide (2.8–4 mm) or varifocal lens so you can frame the shot on site. An outdoor camera rated IP66/IP67.
- Sun. Do not aim at the eastern or western horizon — the picture washes out in the morning or evening. Turn on WDR in the camera.
Internet and power on site
Our server connects to the camera over the internet, so the camera or recorder must be reachable from outside: a public IP and a forwarded RTSP port (554 by default). See port forwarding.
- Fibre to the site office is the best option. For 1080p, 3–4 Mbit/s of upload per camera is enough.
- Mobile internet (an LTE router) works, but mobile operators usually do not give you a public IP. Ask for a static public IP, or call us and we will set it up on site.
- Power. Sites lose power often. Put the PoE switch and router on a UPS and run cables in protective conduit.
- Security. Create a separate view-only user on the camera, change the default password and keep the firmware updated. Open only the RTSP port to the internet — never the camera's web interface (80/443/8000).
Workers in the frame, and the law
People work on the site, and a public live stream shows them to everyone. Georgia's Law on Personal Data Protection restricts video surveillance, so:
- Choose a wide view: the building should be visible, faces should not be recognisable.
- Do not point the camera at changing areas, welfare containers, the pavement or neighbours' windows.
- Put up a warning sign on site and tell your contractor in advance that the camera is live.

Features that fit
- Logo editor. Your company logo and project name in the corner, so every screenshot carries your brand. One template can be published to the cameras on all your sites at once.
- Ad link. Clicking the camera name takes the viewer to the project page or your apartment catalogue.
- Access modes. A public camera for the website; password or email verification for investors or existing buyers. See protecting a stream.
- Allowed domains. The embed code works only on your own website — nobody else can put it on their page.
- Live switch and schedules. Pause the stream at night, on days off, or whenever there is nothing to show.
- H.265 cameras. Detected automatically and converted to H.264 while someone is watching. See H.265 in the browser.
- WordPress plugin, if your site runs on WordPress: WordPress plugin.
How to start
- Create an account.
- Add the camera: public IP, RTSP port, view-only user and stream path. Brand guides: Hikvision, Dahua or NVR/DVR recorders.
- Run the connection test — the server tells you what to fix: password, port, path or codec.
- Copy the embed code onto the project page: embedding on a website.
No camera yet? NEWTECH sells and installs cameras: we come to the site, mount the camera, sort out the internet and start the stream. Phone: +995 577 79 53 77.
Can the stream be recorded or turned into a timelapse?
Not at the moment. VIDEOCAMERA LIVE shows live video only. Recordings stay on your camera or recorder, if recording is enabled there.
Can one camera be public and another only for investors?
Yes. Each camera has its own access mode: public, password or email verification. See protecting a stream.
The site only has mobile internet. Will it work?
Yes, as long as the camera is reachable from outside — for that you need a public IP from the operator. If you cannot arrange it, call us and we will set it up on site.
Will many viewers overload the site's connection?
No. We take one stream from the camera and our server serves the viewers — however many watch, the load on the site's internet stays the same.
